The library connects us with the insight and knowledge, painfully extracted from Nature, of the greatest minds that ever were, with the best teachers, drawn from the entire planet and from all our history, to instruct us without tiring, and to inspire us to make our own contribution to the collective knowledge of the human species. I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness about the underpinnings of our culture and our concern for the future can all be tested by how well we support our libraries.

~ Cosmos Carl Sagan

The Institute has a well-stocked and partially computerized library and a very spacious reading hall. It has a total of about 20,000 titles related to social work and social sciences. All the latest books in the realm of social work are added to the library regularly. The Library also maintains paper-clippings in registers on various topics related to social work. It also subscribes to INFLIBNET and more than 85 professional journals, published from India and abroad. The Library also has collection of e-resources, audio and video cassettes on subjects of relevance to the field of Social Work.

Internet facilities are provided to free of cost to the students at the library. The library also has ‘book bank’ facilities, under which a specific number of books are issued to select students exclusively for their use throughout the academic session. The Library has also developed special sections on HIV/AIDS and social work research. The Library is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 10.00 a. m. to 2.00 p.m. on Saturday.
