It was fun for me to recall my days in the sorority of MSSISW. The friendships forged within this institution with students and faculty, alike, truly inspired and influenced my career and lives professionally as well as personally. I believe, one can either stumble upon or make a conscious choice to be in the field of social work. For me, it was a conscious choice and this institute had facilitated learning, unlearning and relearning!I now have the opportunity to help others in one way or another and I thank my alma matter for that

Program Associate CASA, Madhya PradeshI was a MSW student of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work from 1984 to 1986. A little scared in the totally new atmosphere and pursuing new course about which I had little knowledge, I was observing other silently the students who had done BSW.A teacher, Rekha Tank Madam, used a method to make me speak by calling all of us ‘Dumb’ students. The journey started from there and a student who had stage-phobia started speaking in classrooms, at field work placements, village camps and later became a regular contributor in seminars, getting invitation for guest lectures etc. I took keen interest in some subjects, which helped me address even social work and sociology teachers in their orientation courses.I was working as journalist, while pursuing MSW course and continued in the same field till my retirement in April 2020. The course and the institute helped in getting recognition in my profession. I earned awards for social journalism and appreciation for my writing on social issues. Even after retirement from The Hitavada, I was offered job by some news agencies and news portals. I am continuing to work as a service to the society. For about four years I also worked as Project Co-ordinator of Village Development Project of MSSISW, which provided great exposure to rural life.

Senior JournalistI entered the Institute for CSW and left after completing MSW. With the support from Institute I could clear UGC NET twice and complete PhD under the Guidance of Principal Dr John Menachery. The Institute through highly experienced faculties, one-to-one relationship between faculties and students, classroom teaching, Field Practicum and research activities helped in developing Social Work Professional in me and in maintaining balance between theory and practical by providing several opportunities. All credit of my professional success goes to the MSSISW.
